HairGlam adds a Halloween Studio, 39 face paint looks on your own face, no mess

Press note. HairGlam, the Viral Labs app that shows a haircut or hair color on a photo of your own face, now renders 39 Halloween face paint and costume looks the same way. The first four are free.

HairGlam, the iPhone and iPad app that shows a haircut or hair color on a photo of the user's own face, today added a Halloween Studio: 39 face paint and costume looks, from sugar skulls and vampires to this year's character looks, rendered onto a selfie in seconds. The first four Halloween looks are free.

Why it exists

Every October the question is the same: which look suits me? A painted face flattens the contour your bones normally give you, so a green or blue face looks very different on different people. Seeing it on your own face first saves an hour of painting and, often, a wasted costume.

The studio sits next to HairGlam's existing hair, color and makeup studios, and works the same way: one photo, pick a look, see the result on yourself. Character looks carry descriptive names in the app, such as Deadpan Goth or Harlequin Pigtails; HairGlam is not affiliated with the shows or films they recall.

Guides for each look

Each look has a step by step guide on the HairGlam site, written for people doing the makeup at home:

Try it

HairGlam is free to download with 12 free looks: 4 haircuts, 4 hair colors and 4 makeup looks, plus the first 4 Halloween looks. Some looks can also be tried free in the browser, without installing anything, at hairglam.app/try. The full catalogue of 138 hairstyles and 125 hair colors, each shown before and after on the same studio portrait, is at hairglam.app/hairstyles.
